1. Fill in the application form as precisely as you can

It is important that you consider your choice of project carefully and state your motives as briefly and precisely as possible. A large and complex body of material will not necessarily convince the Project Committee that you are able to plan a media production. The same goes for a superficial and imprecise application. Try to be concise and bring out the uniqueness of your project. Your main focus should be on 3 things:

2. Be realistic

Your level of ambition should reflect your ability to bring off the project. Making films is difficult, even for experienced filmmakers, so why not start with a straightforward project? But if you really want to make a medieval film at a castle ruin in the south of France, by all means go for it! The Committee readily supports significant experiments.

3. We welcome additional material to help us process the application

Write the additional material in the form that fits your project best. It could be a presentation of your ideas describing themes and characters, a treatment containing a step-by-step description of the action or a draft of a finished script with or without dialogue.

4. Have you worked with picture media before?

Then it may be a good idea to enclose your CV and/or a VHS copy of one or more of your earlier works. This will give the Project Committee an idea of your level of ambition and experience, your way of telling a story and how you assess your themes. All in all it will give us a better understanding of why your project is so important to you.

5. Consider your stylistic effects carefully

Also consider what it takes technically to carry them out. Many productions can be successfully realised by means of simple technology, for instance on a small recording format, while other productions put great demands on technology.

6. Take applying seriously

Full Support has a market value of between 10,000 and 100,000 Danish kroner (1,600 to 16,000 US$). Consider the time you spend on the application as time spent on preparing your project.
